A Heated Conversation about Trans Topics in the Media

March 25, 2016 by Kiara Ventura

On March 22nd, the LGBTQ center in Manhattan hosted a talk on trans topics in the media. The panel and a large audience gathered to discuss issues and inaccuracies in the coverage of the trans community by prominent media outlets. The conversation took a contentious turn when an audience member felt that her question was not answered by panelist Meredith Talusan, an LGBT staff writer for Buzzfeed.
