VIDEO DISCOVERY: Rebooting NYU Stern Rugby

November 11, 2022 by David Cheung

Since its establishment in 1996, NYU Stern Rugby has served as a club for enthusiasts, offering rugby to the NYU community, alumni, and even beyond, all within a university that doesn’t place a strong emphasis on sports and in a city not traditionally associated with rugby. However, the club faced abandonment due to the pandemic’s social distancing rules and the citywide lockdown. After a hiatus of two years, MBA students Alexandra Strick and Lane Wang are determined to revive the club. They plan to achieve this by participating in their first men’s 15s contact rugby tournament and by recruiting enough women to establish a women’s 15s touch side.
