Village Tannery is located on the corner between Bleecker St and Sullivan St in Manhattan, New York. It is one of the few standing leather workshop and retailers in the city. The Turkish-owned tannery was founded by Sevestet and her associates in the 1970s, and will be celebrating its 50th anniversary soon. The tannery is not only a symbol of New York’s boujee past, but also an emblem of immigrants’ hard work.

A special thank you to Professor H. Schellmann for helping with the project, and to Sevestet as well as Village Tannery for the warm welcome.
