Samantha LaMendola, the now 21-year old Connecticut resident, planned a trip for her 21st birthday to Europe in March 2020. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic reaching Europe, she was forced to cancel. Instead, she decided to go on a road trip to New Orleans to celebrate her birthday. However, once Samantha arrived in New Orleans, the pandemic soon arrived as well.

As breast cancer rates are rising in young women, 50,000 New Yorkers donned pink apparel and marched through Central Park for the national Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.
